This sentence answered my question, “because Richard killed in dark shadows in so many different ways, with different-caliber guns, clubs, bricks, and bats, knives and rope and ice picks, the NYPD never thought it was one man”. One question did arise when I was reading about his countless bar murders, “wouldn’t a pattern be eventually found?”. Now Richard wasn’t one to kill in the plan open no, he liked to be a sneak. Richard always got into bar fights, no not bar fights more like in the spur of the moment murders.

Richard like to drink a lot, he drank only hard liquor at night with an occasional beer in the morning, “he often got drunk, became nasty and belligerent-just like his father”. Everyone knew of his drunken bar fights, the gambling addiction and alcohol abuse-wow, doesn’t this all sound like someone I’ve already mentioned? Stanley? Everyone had unfortunately known of daytime Richard, and fortunately not nightmare Richard.

Richard now became one of the most feared men in all of Jersey City. Richard Kuklinski, you may now or hopefully stab the groom.

BOOM, Barbara was now his property permanently unless she wanted her family and herself killed. “He raised his hand jabbed her in the back, just behind her left shoulder, with a knife”. Barbara was trapped and even confided to Richard she need some space, biggest mistake of her life. the obsession though…turned into possession. Richard became so obsessed with Barbara, the ultimate undivided attention was given to her. The love that this family was showing was a complete hit on Richard, “he’d never in his life been around a family that wasn’t severely dysfunctional”. Barbara was eventually confident enough to introduce Richard to her grandma Carmella, aunt Sadie and her mother Genevieve. The two went out for coffee and lunch and eventually became acquainted enough. Barbara had no idea who she was talking to. Barbara was offered a job a the “Swiftline Tracking Company where she met Richard”-unfortunately. So you can kind of call it a beauty and the beast metaphor. Barbara was an Italian born girl with pure beauty in every area of her body and soul. Could anyone love a man so evil? So abusive? So outspoken? So misunderstood? At one point yes, someone did end up loving the poor Pollack.
